Houston’s Arushi Garg Wins ‘Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge’ 2023

Garg transformed her 1980s Suzuki Maruti Omni van into a bright pink homage to her homeland, complete with a stretched body, six tires, and a removed roof. She called her creation the Jaipur Jewel.

Garg beat out four other contestants in the finale, each of whom had also transformed their cars from their past into full-size Hot Wheels. The other contestants were:

• Michael “Mad Mike” Whiddett, a professional drifter from New Zealand
• Jessi Combs, a professional racer and TV personality
• Luis Rodriguez, a custom car builder from California
• Robert Hight, a professional drag racer from California

Garg’s win was a historic moment for Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge. She was the first Indian-American contestant on the show, and she is also the first mother to compete.
